Crazy’s Adventure: Webby41

It’s that time of year again. I made a trip to the UK to meet one of my Xbox friends for the first time. This trip was to meet my eldest friend, 70 years old, Webby41.

I knew Webby online through his son-in-law; Whom I met on last year’s Xbox friend meet up tour.

I met Webby in the South of London on the Isle of Dogs.

Webby took me on a tour of his old stomping grounds in London. It was hilarious recording the old man shouting at cabs.

We went to his favorite Pie & Mash shoppe. Beef Pie covered in parsley sauce.

Then it was off to the Greenwich Time Museum.

Can’t be ice cream on a hot July day.

With a stunning view of London.

Road trip Webby’s house to the Eastern most town in the UK.

Mr. & Mrs. Webby were such amazing host.

A good old friend of Breaking The Game, Ellery Connel, has begun development of his new iOS game. We have started our support with sponsorship of the project. We ask for your help to join in.

“Harbinger: Skeleton Crew is a first person sci-fi adventure game for the iOS (iPhone, iPod, iPad). Through a combination of open exploration and simple puzzles, the story of the derelict starship Armada unfolds.”

Xbox LIVE Rewards are here!

If playing Halo, earning gamerscore along with a billion dollars and infinite girlfriends wasn’t enough, your wait is over. Microsoft is implementing a new rewards program for it’s Xbox Live members starting today! You will now be able to earn rewards in the form of MS Points from doing certain actions on your account. For example, take a survey each month and earn 20 MS Points or renew your Gold Subscription and earn points based on the length of time you renew.

This is awesome for several reasons. First, there is now such a thing as Free Microsoft Points and B, those few spare points left over from purchases past will now be worth something. You can track your points via xbox.com and view all of the details by clicking here.  Don’t forget to check out the FAQ located here.

If you have any comments don’t forget to post them.  Maybe you want to express how thankful you are for getting something for free or maybe you want to talk about how your lawyer will be contacting MS for implementing a rewards program right after you renewed your Gold subscription.  Either way we’d love to hear from you.

Microsoft Knows What They’re Doing

Everything that Microsoft does seems so pointless when they do it. Like avatars and NXE. I don’t think I know one person who thought those were needed or who even liked the ideas. But look at the two today. They both turned out great.

Xbox has always seemed to have realized what gaming is all about. Let’s look at Xbox LIVE parties. It’s an idea so simple that it’s brilliant. They’re still the only console to have parties. What about achievements? They were the first to do it and now Sony is trying to copy what Xbox did years ago with trophys. They realize that gamers want to be able to talk to friends and family. They also realize that we like to get rewarded for things.

Xbox has also worked hard to take indie developers and help them excel. Just look how popular the indie games are. They even put out C# for free and put up guides to give people who want to try programing a little boost. This is something no other console has ever done.

So, Kinect may not make total sense right now but I can assure you it won’t end up like that little webcam Xbox came up with. The games right now may seem a little childish for you “hardcore gamers” out there but just give it a chance. I’m sure they’ll make something for you eventually.

So please don’t say what Microsoft does is stupid. They just like trying out new ideas. The only big mistake they’ve made so far is the red ring.

Woo Hoo! It has arrived!

Kinect is finally here. I have been waiting forever to talk about and now I finally can! I am picking up YourShape Fitness Evolved tomorrow… so I will post some reviews of it after I mess with it a bit.

p.s.  November is always such an awesome time for gaming memories… LIVE first went public in November, GoW came out in November… and most importantly, (though it isn’t technically a gaming moment)  it’s my b-day in a month!

Extra Life=Awesome Sauce

extra-life-logoThe folks over at Sarcastic Gamer have been doing something pretty sweet the last few years. Instead of saving Princess Peach they save kids. They call it Extra Lifeand it’s a 24 hour gaming marathon. They’re in the middle of the third Extra Life event right now. As I type this they’re halfway through the 24 hours and have $203,618. ALL of this money will be going straight to the Children’s Miracle Network to help save sick kids. Do you want to be forever on my awesome list? Go and donate, even if you donate a $1. The more money the better. Also, If you visit that link, at the top of the site you’ll see an up to the second amount of money they sold so far. Thank you so much Extra Life supporters!

Don’t Rage Quit Comic Jumper

twisted-pixel-a-1  If you’ve played Comic Jumper, you know how hard the game is. If you’re like me you have probably had a part in the game where you died repeatedly for what seems like an infinite amount of times. But don’t give up the game before you even give yourself to beat the second issue.

The skill will come with time, you may have to try a certain part over and over again but it’ll come. For example, the first time I played the the third level I died for what seemed like a million times. But after I beat the Manga comics I went back, tryed it and never died and got over $30,000.  One tip I have is only use the triggers for shooting and jumping, this keeps your thumbs free so you can aim, shoot and jump at the same time. Get used to it because it’s very important in the later issues. Also, upgrade and buy as much bonuses as you can get. The bonuses are not only hilarious, they actually add a percentage of your score at the end of the level to your score so you get lots of MONIES! The more monies the better right?

So please don’t give up, you’ll beat the part of the game you’re on eventually. It’s a great game, seriously, don’t rage quit. Be a REAL gamer. I’ll say it agian, don’t give up.
