StoneLoops of Jurassica is one of those games that will be overlooked by most people, but once you play it, you will be hooked. The game plays almost identical to Zuma. You are given different colored stones and you have to match up 3 or more of the same color stone to remove them from the looping paths. At the end of each path is a dragon head. Let the stones reach the dragon’s head and it is game over. Simple enough right? With looping paths and increasingly challenging levels, the game will definitely challenge even the most jaded gamer. There are 9 different types of power-ups aiding you in your quest to destroy stones, through 2 different game modes. The first is the “Normal” mode, you are given the ball and you try to match up 3 or more stones. The second is “Grab N’ Shoot” mode, in this one you remove a ball from the line of stones to match 3 or more and remove as many as possible. Both are very fun and bring their own challenges.
The graphics and sound are very well done. There are 75 different levels, each with their own unique style, ranging from a tropical forest feel all the way to a lava filled volcano. Each level really is impressive for this type of game. Like most iPhone games, a set of headphones is the best way to hear the music and sound effects. For some reason the internal iPhone speaker just doesn’t cut it for most games.

After spending quite some time with the game, I will say this fits in nicely with my growing collection of favorites. I was a huge Zuma fan and this is a very good progression for this type of game play. With solid graphics, remarkable sound, and enough variety to keep it from getting boring this game is a STEAL at $.99. This one really should be in your iPhone game collection. I give this one 5 out of 5.
