Today Microsoft announced very quietly that on August 11th gamers will have all they have been waiting for in the next update to the Dashboard.  This update is also currently being offered early to people who sign up through Microsofts Connect website.  You can get all the details on that from Major Nelson here, if it’s not too late already, so hurry up but finish reading this first.

This update will include an enhanced version of the Netflix streaming which will provide a better quality stream.  There will be a Netflix party experience to allow you to watch movies with your friends from different couches.  You can also update your queue without loggin into your computer.  FINALLY!!

Anyway that’s not all.  You will also be able to download popular games such as Bioshock or Lego Star Wars Directly to your console using the new Xbox Live games on Demand.  This will give you around the clock access to over 30 games when it launches.

Now your Avatar can break out of the mold with the new Avatar Store which will feature branded clothes from both the clothing and gaming industry.

Do you have a Twitter, Facebook or Last.fm account?  No problem if you don’t.

You’ll have until the fall to get aquainted with those services because they won’t be added until later in this Fall.  Either way though this sounds like a pretty cool addition to the Xbox Experience and in just few short weeks we’ll all have it.
