I was really excited when they announced Project Natal at E3. After Microsoft did those demos with the paint and everything, I was thinking “wow, this is cool, when is it out?” But after thinking about it and after completely losing my first article I wrote, I wondered is it really all that great?
Are there any design problems?
- Natal will not work with a projecter because the sensor has to be facing you.
- If the Natal sensor uses a thermal sensor, what If a cat walks by you feet and makes it think you moved your foot or somthing?
- Will body mass effect the responsiveness of the sensor?
- Will it have trouble understanding people with speech problem?
- If it breaks and you send it in, you can’t play any games that are made to work with Natal.
Here’s some other issues.
- Who likes waving their hands in the air for hours?
- Who wants to pay $40 to paint an elephant?
- It better not turn on by itself as shown in the E3 video.
Remember those demos at E3? Those worked great but would you really play those for hours? And what about gamers?
Now honestly folks, I love the idea and I think it’ll be great, but these are just some things that Microsoft didn’t think about when designing this.
