FL Studio – All Plugins $49.00!

Alright, so you may be wondering to yourself, “omgwtf” is Bogeh talking about, this has nothing to do with games or the game industry. Well let me tell you, you’re absolutely right! You may or may not know that I produce hip-hop/rap beats as a little side hobby. I’m definitely not a professional producer by any means, but I know I how to drop a hot beat, yeeeaaahhh! If you want to hear some samples, feel free to hit me up!

Anyways, the program I use, FL Studio, made by Image-Line, is having a sale on all of their plugins. Now I’ll give you a brief rundown of what this means. Plugins are essentially external sounds, players, editors, etc. for the default program. If you have never produced music before, I highly recommend that you download the free demo of FL Studio 9. If you like it, purchase it and add some plugins!

Not only do I use this program, but I’ve convinced Elite Effect to use it as well, even though he’s still running the demo version. So if you’re looking for some good plugins, here are the ones I recommend:

  • Sytrus
  • Edison WAV editor
  • Soundfont Player

You can check out the full list here. This promotion runs until the end of August 2010!

Staff Spotlight – Elite Effect

Say hello to our newest staff member, Elite Effect. He’s been around the Xbox Community block for a while now and he’s one cool dude. He’s a valuable poster over on the Xbox.com Forums and now, a writer for BTG. Check out what he has to say:

Bogeh: Tell us about your first experiences with the original Xbox or Xbox 360. What did you think of Xbox LIVE when you first hopped online?
Elite Effect: “Woah!” It was like a portal to a whole new world of a gaming experience, lol. I didn’t have Xbox LIVE for the first year or so that I had a Xbox 360. So, when I finally got Xbox LIVE, one of the first games I played was Gears of War and it really blew me away. Read the rest of this entry »

Xbox Community 101

Xbox 360

The Xbox Community is vast and spans across many outlets ranging from Xbox.com, Twitter, Facebook, etc. It can be hard to get yourself involved in the community. All the information and bits of advice you read below is straight out of my personal experience with being more actively involved with the Xbox Community over the last six years. I’ve had many successes and many fails, but I’ve taken something from every experience I’ve had and learned from it. I’m warning you now, this a lengthy read. But if you’re the type of person who’s wondering “How can I do more?”,  read on! Read the rest of this entry »

Long Time No See

Wow I haven’t done one of these in long time. Sorry for the disappearance.  I can’t believe I would have lost a passion with video games. Could playing a new game every week for 2 years really kill the joy?

Xbox King – A Little About Me

avatarpic-lCAZQPUFDAs some of you may know, I was mentioned often as “the biggest fan” in many of the Breaking the Game podcasts.  Luckily all my dedication and fanboy-ism paid off and now I am a contigent staff writer for BTG. What that means is that I am going to start writing some fun pieces for BTG and hopefully I can join them as a full time staff member if people like what I have to say!

fanboy1A little about me — I own an Xbox 360, Wii, and Nintendo DS. As the name suggests, I am a huge Xbox fan and I research and investigate until I find out everything about everything related to Xbox.

I am a huge fan of writing and I already have some pretty interesting ideas planned. You probably already noticed that after reading my previous news story, “Answer the Call”.  The majority of my writing will be reporting on humorous incidents and writing articles that make fun of what marketing companies send out to the masses.

I hope you enjoy my writing and I will see you around!!!

Artist based music games… Yes or no?

ghrbThat is the ultimate question that I and several other gamers have questioned all the way from the start of the Guitar Hero series.  Activision started the trend with Guitar Hero: Aerosmith and Harmonix continued the idea just recently by releasing The Beatles Rock Band.  From what I can recall, the number of single artist based music games is up to at least five, featuring the bands I mentioned above plus Metallica, AC/DC, and Van Halen.

Now the reason I bring this all up in the first place is because there may be another single artist based music game on the way.  According to IGN, the band Queen may plan on Read the rest of this entry »
