Posted by Kiki Lewis in Contests, I thought this was cool, PAX, Xbox on August 23rd, 2010
Well, okay, maybe not a full size one.. and definitely not one of the type you nasty minded peeps were thinking of, but something just as cool!
Built by Chris “Omega” Ruble from Gamer-Grafix.com, the Xbox 360 has been modified to resemble a modern day military humvee, and was inspired by Fun For Our Troops.
The Xbox 360, enclosed within the Hummer’s shell, is entirely functional and features its own built in monitor, as well as a 250 GB Hard Drive. Chris has fused his passion for supporting the troops with his love of art and video gaming to shape one of his most impressive pieces of work to date.

FL Studio – All Plugins $49.00!
Posted by Bogeh in A Slice of Us, I thought this was cool, Non Videogame, Random on July 27th, 2010
Alright, so you may be wondering to yourself, “omgwtf” is Bogeh talking about, this has nothing to do with games or the game industry. Well let me tell you, you’re absolutely right! You may or may not know that I produce hip-hop/rap beats as a little side hobby. I’m definitely not a professional producer by any means, but I know I how to drop a hot beat, yeeeaaahhh! If you want to hear some samples, feel free to hit me up!
Anyways, the program I use, FL Studio, made by Image-Line, is having a sale on all of their plugins. Now I’ll give you a brief rundown of what this means. Plugins are essentially external sounds, players, editors, etc. for the default program. If you have never produced music before, I highly recommend that you download the free demo of FL Studio 9. If you like it, purchase it and add some plugins!
Not only do I use this program, but I’ve convinced Elite Effect to use it as well, even though he’s still running the demo version. So if you’re looking for some good plugins, here are the ones I recommend:
- Sytrus
- Edison WAV editor
- Soundfont Player
You can check out the full list here. This promotion runs until the end of August 2010!

The Force Unleashed II Collectors Edition Contents
Did you enjoy being a complete badass with the Force in Star Wars: The Force Unleashed? If you played this game anything near to how I played it, you used ever power to the most destructive way imaginable. The whole “with great power, comes great responsibility” ideology was thrown out the window once I had the chance to be a Sith/Jedi.
Well, this fall The Force Unleashed II will be released and the Collectors Edition has some pretty sweet goods coming with it. The steelbook that comes with this edition looks mighty sexy. Click the linked image to the left to read more about what you’ll receive if you pick up the Collectors Edition.
Get Yourself a Gaming Headset
Posted by Erik Carpenter in I thought this was cool, Xbox on June 7th, 2010
Do you play First Person Shooter games? Have you ever burst through a door expecting to get the drop on an enemy only to find that they have gotten the drop on you? How in the world did they know you were around them? And how the @#$^! did they know you were coming through THAT door? While there are a number of reasons as to why this may have happened, there is one explanation that is the most likely. You have likely just came across a player utilizing a gaming headset.

Google Pacman?
Posted by xboxking in BTG, I thought this was cool, PC on May 21st, 2010
For the 30th anniversary of Pacman, Google did somthing really cool. Google is known for having special Google pictures for holidays and events. Well, today Google has a playable Pacman game on the site in the shape of Google. Yes, you heard me, you can actually play it. All the ghosts, the fruit, and everything is there. They even give you three lives. I’m guessing today is the only day you’ll get to play it so get playing. Also, if you get a gameover, there is a “insert coin” button by the search button. I thought that was a nice touch.
I think this has to be the coolest thing Google ever did on the homepage. So, get playing! What are you waiting for. The game’s on the Google homepage.
The Blanket Project
Posted by Kiki Lewis in I thought this was cool, Xbox on January 13th, 2010
Living in a cold climate effects causes more then chilly fingers and noses for a lot of people, and together we can help. There are tons of shelters in which you can donate your time and money but me and our friend and my fellow Microsoft MVP, kilaMOMjaro, are putting together a blanket project to create blankets for donating to a local family shelter – Solid Ground Family Shelter. The blankets are super warm and cuddly (I have seen and felt them firsthand).
On Saturday the 20th of February anyone local (Seattle/Eastside) area can gather with us and donate their time to make the quilts for these children. If you can make it, awesome! Please stop by. If not, bummer, but you can also donate towards supplies. Click on the nifty graphic for more info and to donate directly to the cause. We all care and I am sure we can all find $10 to support a good cause. Contact GOFBlankets@gmail.com for more info.
Thx!
