Gears of War 2 – 20x XP Event
With the San Diego Comic Con (SDCC) convention right around the corner, there’s a special XP event going on for Gears of War 2. Here are the details for you to get the last of your multiplayer achievements:
20x XP in Gears of War 2 from July 22nd 12:30 EDT – July 25th 8:00 EDT
Gears 2 XP Event – You’re Needed!
If you were like Pogre or Scratch when 8x XP hit Gears of War 2 last week, you barely let your hands off your controller as you were frantically playing to get achievements. Well, now it’s up to you to help with how much XP you’ll be earning for the next event. Rob Fergusson, the Executive Producer of the Gears of War franchise and man in charge of XP, is bribing you on Twitter. Fergusson, @GearsViking, states:
Ok, here’s my bribe. The SDCC XP event will be # of my followers divided by 500. So 4000 followers means 8x XP.

Halo: Reach Achievements

Wondering what sweet achievements you’ll be earning yourself once Halo: Reach drops in stores on September 14th? Bungie gave a preview into some of the acheivements that we all love to go for, some more than others, *cough* Scratch *cough*. Here’s a breakdown of the achievements:
- 49 total achievements are broken down into five groups:
- Campaign (23)
- Firefight (7)
- Multiplayer (4)
- Training (6)
- Player Experience (9) - Six achievements and descriptions released:
- A Monument to All Your Sins – Complete each Campaign Mission on Legendary – alone
- Banshees, Fast and Low – Hijack a Banshee during the Reach Campaign
- Yes, Sensei – Earn a First Strike Medal in a Matchmaking game
- A New Challenger – Complete all of the Daily Challenges in a given day
- Make It Rain – Purchase an item from the Armory that requires the rank of Lt. Colonel
- If They Came to Hear Me Beg – Perform an Assassination against an Elite to survive a fall that would’ve been fatal - And lastly, all 49 achievement medal images:

Blacklight Tango Down
Blacklight Tango Down is one Xbox Live Arcade game that has really taken me by surprise. Its really kind of flew under my radar, but it recently started getting some good media coverage. Thus bringing it to my attention, and I have to say, for an Xbox Live Arcade game, it really knocked me back by how good it looks.
In the near-future, in a city ravaged by war, the Blacklight Tango Team has been sent to find recently missing Colonel Klein and his personal Blacklight team in the city of Balik. The rebel group “The Order”, is thought to have captured or killed the missing Blacklight team.
Tango Team prepares to attack The Order’s headquarters when Blacklight command informs them that civilians have been infected with an unknown virus, causing them to attack everyone they encounter. As they engage the Order in combat, both sides are attacked by crazed civilians. Because the circumstances have changed, Tango Team is ordered to stop The Order at all costs…
I don’t know about you guys, but I will definitely be purchasing this game. Blacklight Tango Down will be released on July 7th and will run you $15 (1,200 Microsoft Points.) It will be on Xbox 360 for the Xbox Live Arcade, PS3 for PSN, and the PC.
Bad Company 2 Map Pack 4 Releases July 7th
According to the in-game store in Bad Company 2, tomorrow, July 7th, Map Pack 4 will be available for download from the store via the main menu. The map pack containing Atacama Desert Rush and Port Valdez Conquest will be free to download to VIP members as usual. See on you on the battlefield!

That’s the most important date this week since technically, in my book, July 4th was last week. Wondering why July 7th is so important…it’s Bungie Day! Elite Effect: “Woah!” It was like a portal to a whole new world of a gaming experience, lol. I didn’t have Xbox LIVE for the first year or so that I had a Xbox 360.
